President Donald Trump announced earlier this week that he will find a way to fix Venezuela and the failures of its socialist government.
Recently, Venezuela has been ravaged by riots as its socialist government desperately tries to cling to power.
Trump made it clear that he will not support a socialist government in Venezuela.
“People don’t have enough to eat,” he said Thursday, according to an official White House transcript. “People have no food. There’s great violence.”
“And we will do whatever is necessary — and we’ll work together to do whatever is necessary — to help with fixing that,” he added. “And I’m really talking on a humanitarian level.”
Trump hinted that he will encourage Venezuela to partner with its neighbor Colombia.
He also said that a stable Venezuela is beneficial to everyone, not just Venezuela itself.
“The stable and peaceful Venezuela is in the best interest of the entire hemisphere, and America stands with all of the people in our great hemisphere yearning to be free,” he said. “We will be working with Colombia and other countries on the Venezuelan problem.”
“It is a very, very horrible problem,” he added.
What do you think about the riots in Venezuela? Do you think their socialist government will collapse?
