Monday was Memorial Day, a day dedicated to honoring the brave American troops who have given their lives in defense of our great nation.
Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina, honored America’s fallen troops in an awesome way.
According to reports, over 7,000 pairs of combat boots were lined up in rows to honor our fallen soldiers.
Conservative Tribune reports:
The Fayetteville Observer reported that family members were invited to decorate the boots they send in. The volunteers who helped put together the display also decorated the boots and places a tag on each boot with the photo off the fallen solider, as well as information about where they served and when they died.
“That has been sad for me, knowing we lost so many,” said Charlotte Watson, the program manager of Fort Bragg’s survivor outreach group. “This is an opportunity to pay tribute to the sacrifice.”
The U.K. Daily Mail noted that Army veteran Mike Thomas has made it his mission to document each and every boot and send a photo of it to the family members of the fallen solider.
“They will be never forgotten as long as we speak their names and honor their lives,” Thomas explained.
What an amazing tribute. It is so simple, yet so powerful.
