President Donald Trump received a warning from the radical Islamist Hassm group recently in which they threatened to damage the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt.
“The embassy is aware of a potential threat posted on a website by the Hassm group, a known terrorist organization, suggesting some kind of unspecified action this evening,” the statement read. “The embassy has no further information about this potential threat but is in contact with Egyptian authorities.”
“U.S. citizens should continue to follow sound security practices and adhere to the security guidelines provided in the Travel Warning for Egypt issued by the State Department on December 23, 2016,” the statement added.
Conservative Tribune reports:
It remains unclear if the potential attack was to be directed against the embassy itself or merely random American citizens in the Cairo region.
What is apparent is that this security threat too closely mirrors the litany of threats that popped up prior to the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. That attack led to the deaths of four Americans: Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone S. Woods and Glen Doherty.
Moreover, their deaths could have possibly been prevented had the administration of former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton been more receptive to the legions of warnings they received prior to the attack.
Nor surprisingly, Republicans have concluded that the Obama administration was clearly to blame for the Benghazi attack.
“Republicans investigating the 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya, have concluded the Obama administration was slow to respond to security threats and ignored dire intelligence warnings,” NPR reported last year.
But don’t ask liberals to apologize for failing to protect American interests because we all know Hillary Clinton will refuse to take any blame.
