Yousef Youkhaneh may be 82, but that didn’t stop him from roughing up a much younger man after the man started attacking his 76-year-old wife.
Youkhaneh, who lives in San Jose, heard his wife Christine scream in horror. When he rushed to the scene, he saw the Rehnu Singh attempting to flee the scene.
Youkhaneh was having none of it and charged the man who was over 30 years younger than him.
Conservative Tribune reports:
The elderly wife was reportedly heading into her backyard around 5:30 p.m. on May 28 when she stopped just outside the home’s screen door to put on her shoes. While she was bent over, she felt two hard cracks on her head, in quick succession, according to the Chronicle.
When she looked up, she saw Singh hitting her with a large piece of wood.
Upon hearing the scuffle and his wife’s screams for help, Youkhaneh rushed outside and found his wife with a bloodied head — a gash that would later require eight stitches, according to The Mercury News.
Singh later described how Youkhaneh’s wife was ferocious when he tried to flee.
“She had tools in her hand and she tried to hit me,” he said. “But I didn’t let her go.”
“I fell down and she fell down,” he said. “But I didn’t let her go. I held onto her with all my power.”
Officers eventually arrived on the scene and Singh was charged with elder abuse, assault with a deadly weapon, and attempted burglary.
Many times we meet citizens we see as heroes. Yousef, 82, defended his wife from an attacking burglar & held the suspect till we arrived! pic.twitter.com/Aj006pPrIN

What a brave man to defend his wife and challenge someone much younger than him. This is what toughness looks like.
