Actor Robert De Niro has acted in some amazing movies throughout his career, but it appears as if he is beginning to lose his touch.
Rather than focusing on being the tough guy, something that he has excelled in through all the films he has acted in, he is now commenting on politics.
De Niro recently slammed President Donald Trump during a speech at Rhode Island’s Brown University.
Conservative Tribune reports:
Over the weekend of May 26-28, Brown University celebrated the commencement of its class of 2017. De Niro, a card-carrying Hollywood liberal, tried to use his celebrity and “movie terminology” to relate to the graduates and inspire them towards, “change.”
His statements were not only weak in logic, but likely offensive to a good part of his audience. Not everyone in the graduating class shared his left-wing sentiments, but that didn’t stop De Niro from telling the graduates that the country they are graduating in is a “tragic, dumb— comedy.”
“When you started school, the country was an inspiring, uplifting drama,” he said, according to Brown University’s website. “You are graduating into a tragic, dumbass comedy.”
“My advice is to lock the Van Wickle Gates and stay here,” De Niro said. “But if you do leave, work for the change. Work to stop the insanity. Start now so the Class of 2018 will graduate into a better world.”
Shame on De Niro. He should stick to acting because he knows next to nothing about politics.
