Liberals have one last trump card to try and take down President Donald Trump.
They are now putting all of their hopes in former FBI Director James Comey and his elusive testimony.
After much delay, it is believed that Comey’s testimony will take place this week before the Senate Intelligence Committee, with many suggesting it will happen on June 8.
Conservative Tribune reports:
According to Bloomberg, Comey is set to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee on June 8.
Comey will undoubtedly touch upon the circumstances of his firing, and the rumors that Trump tried to pressure Comey to back off his investigation into former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.
Whatever Comey says about his interactions with Trump will certainly fuel the fire of speculation surrounding this entire investigation.
The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that sources have indicated Comey will testify that Trump asked him to back off the Flynn investigation — but we won’t know for certain until Comey actually opens his mouth.
Comey has been silent as of late, but his testimony is expected to definitely outline what actually happened between him and Trump.
However, experts believe that Trump will not see any repercussions from Comey’s testimony due to the fact that he is publicly disclosing details from an active investigation, something the FBI wouldn’t want to happen if the investigation was yielding anything of value.
