Two married U.S. Marine officers are in deep trouble after it was revealed that they partied a little too hard in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia.
According to reports, dangerous narcotics were consumed and a major robbery of U.S. government-issued property took place.
The crazy incident took place in February, according to the Miami Herald.
Conservative Tribune reports:
Moreover, the crass behavior of Marine Col. Roger T. McDuffie, Maj. Andrew L. Mueller and Maj. Mauricio Saenz extended beyond what has already been mentioned.
The trio entered a portion of Bogotá reportedly off limits to military personnel, violated a late night curfew and also ignored warnings issued during the start of their trip regarding “the specific hazard associated with local nationals utilizing the drug scopolamine to incapacitate and rob their victims.”
In short, the three seasoned officers permitted their lascivious urges to overpower their extensive training and experience, and as a result two of them were robbed of government property and reportedly wound up in a local emergency room as well.
“It is impossible to know at what point Col. McDuffie amd Maj. Mueller were poisoned by their companions or when the drugs took effect,” Marine Col. Michael Farrell, the chief of staff for the unit in which the three serve, wrote in the report obtained by the Herald.
“It is indisputable however that Col. McDuffie and Maj. Mueller placed themselves in a situation that directly resulted in being drugged, robbed, hospitalized and the loss of U.S. government property,” he added. “The effects of this drug were magnified by a combination with the consumption of alcohol over an almost 11-hour period.”
“This conduct is prejudicial to good order and discipline and constitutes conduct unbecoming an officer,” the report concluded.
