The Democrats thought former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony would bring down President Donald Trump.
However, they never imagined that Comey would actually throw former Attorney General Loretta Lynch under the bus in the process.
During the testimony, Comey exposed Lynch for trying to pressure him into misleading the public.
“(A)t one point, the attorney general had directed me not to call it an ‘investigation,’ but instead to call it a ‘matter,’ which confused me and concerned me,” Comey said.
Conservative Tribune reports:
After Lynch later met privately with Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton, aboard a Department of Justice jet parked on a tarmac in Phoenix on June 27, Comey decided to reject the attorney general’s demand and eventually make a public statement about the findings of the FBI investigation.
“In an ultimately conclusive way, that was the thing that capped it for me — that I had to do something separately to protect the credibility of the investigation, which meant both the FBI and the Justice Department,” he added.
It was in the statement issued on July 5 that Comey announced “that no charges are appropriate in this case” but also outlined the litany of ways in which Clinton had behaved “recklessly,” to say the least.
Listen to that part of the testimony below:
“The former FBI director’s revelation makes clear that, in the heat of a presidential campaign, the sitting president’s attorney general attempted to interfere with an investigation into the Democratic Party’s candidate for president of the United States,” wrote Conservative Review.
According to sources, Lynch feared that the truth about Clinton’s crimes would hurt the Democrats chance at winning the election and asked Comey to twist the truth.
This has to be illegal and shows that the Democrats were guilty of obstructing justice.
