Former FBI Director James Comey testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday.
The testimony was nothing more than an attempt by Comey to take down President Donald Trump.
In response to the testimony, Trump has created a “War Room” at the RNC.
Conservative Tribune reports:
At the helm of the operation at the party’s Washington, D.C. headquarters are several young political operatives whose sole assignment is to collect relevant video clips from television and alert the team to any breaking news, particularly regarding Comey, the newspaper reported.
In fact, the RNC’s counterattack on Comey — who accused the president of acting improperly and lying — actually began before the ex-FBI director appeared before the Senate committee.
Upon the release of Comey’s planned opening statement the day before his hearing, the party’s official Twitter account suggested, in no uncertain terms, that nothing of importance would be revealed.
“Trying to find something of substance in Comey’s opening statement like …” the RNC tweeted, linking to a GIF of actor Ethan Hawke gazing into the far distance through a telescope.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel slammed Comey for his biased testimony against the president.
“Today’s testimony proved what we have known all along: President Trump is not under investigation, there’s still no evidence of collusion, and he did not hinder the investigations in any way,” McDaniel said, according to the Washington Examiner.
“Nobody thinks more of James Comey than James Comey, and his testimony today was simply a last ditch attempt to save face with the American people.”
“James B. Comey confirmed this morning that President Obama’s Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch attempted to influence the Clinton email investigation, saying her request ‘confused me and concerned me’,” the RNC said in a message to reporters, according to the Washington Post.
According to Rick Gorka, an RNC spokesman, said the RNC remains committed to Trump as they are the party of the current president.
“The RNC’s role is to develop and execute a rapid response effort (nationally and in the states) to either echo the issues and priorities of the White House or to defend the White House,” he wrote.
