President Donald Trump long called for Hillary Clinton to be put in jail for breaking the law when she stored sensitive information on her private email server.
It appears now that Clinton may still end up in a jail cell after the State Department recently decided to reopen their investigation into her.
The department is now starting a new investigation of Clinton and her aides and is looking to revoke her security clearance and access to sensitive government information.
Conservative Tribune reports:
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley, an Iowa Republican, confirmed that the State Department was looking into Clinton’s handling of emails, and his committee also began an inquiry into the situation in March.
The department began its review as part of a longstanding “continuous and ongoing program for oversight of the handling of classified information” after the FBI wrapped its own probe, according to a May 23 State Department letter to Grassley.
Although the probe was initiated by the department after the FBI concluded its own investigation, the letter noted that its inquiry was not “as a result of the FBI investigation.” Instead, the department reportedly waited to begin its review until after the FBI concluded its probe in order to “avoid prejudicing the FBI investigation.”
Previously, the FBI determined that Clinton did nothing wrong, but former FBI Director James Comey said the agency found Clinton and her aides to be “extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.”
According to Chris Farrell of Judicial Watch, a conservative Washington-based government watchdog group, Clinton and her “circle of national security criminals” should not be privy to classified information.
“Their conduct has cost them that privileged position of special trust and confidence,” he explained.
“This flagrant double standard for the gang that exposed Top Secret Codeword material to the Russians, Chinese and others is both offensive and deeply corrosive to the intelligence community,” Farrell said told Fox. “There is no better evidence that when it comes to Hillary Clinton and her côtèrie — laws are for the little people.”
