A Quizno’s employee took matters into her own hands when three armed robbers tried to rob her store.
The brave employee pulled out her own gun and fought the robbers off on Thursday at a Quiznos in Salt Lake City.
According to reports, one female and two male intruders entered the fast food restaurant, armed with two guns. Upon entering the store, they immediately demanded that the employee enter the cash register.
They eventually tried to enter the backroom, but the female employee was barricading the door.
“An employee in that back room was barricading the door, preventing them from coming in,” Detective Greg Wilking of the Salt Lake City Police Department told the station.
However, she realized that she wouldn’t be able to hold forever and decided to take a last stand. She pulled out her own concealed carry firearm and started shooting at the robbers, hitting one of the female robbers in the neck; she was seriously injured in the process.
“This is an extreme type of robbery,” he said. “We’re talking about a situation where they’re locking the door, they’re forcing their way into the back room; it’s a takeover-style robbery. It’s not something that we see very often, much more dangerous for everybody involved.”
That employee deserves a lot of credit for risking her life to keep her place of work and coworkers safe.
