A teenage girl is lucky to be alive after she fell over 25 feet from a ride at Six Flags Great Escape Amusement Park.
The girl was riding on the gondola when her car malfunctioned and she fell out of it.
For what seemed like an eternity, the girl dangled from the ride, barely holding on.
Eventually, enough people gathered below and enticed the girl to drop, catching her after she plummeted 25 feet.
The girl was treated for minor injuries and flown to a nearby hospital where she has been listed in stable condition.
Conservative Tribune reports:
USA Today reported that Matthew Howard Sr. was one of the people who helped catch the girl. Howard sustained a minor back injury from catching the girl, but was treated and released.
“I couldn’t let that little girl die,” Howard explained. “No one wants to put himself underneath a body like that, but I couldn’t stand by and watch.”
Hopefully the park will be able to determine how the girl tumbled out of the ride. This situation could have ended up being a terrible tragedy were it not for the people who helped save the girl’s life.
Thank God the girl is okay. This incident is extremely terrifying and shows that even the most safest rides can be dangerous.
