“Star Wars” star Adam Driver, who plays Kylo Ren in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” recently demonstrated why he is an amazing human being.
Driver recently met surprised the daughter of a veteran from northeastern Pennsylvania with a scholarship.
The scholarship was created to help children and spouses of wounded veterans achieve their academic potential.
Driver himself nearly fought in the Iraq War, but injured himself right before deployment.
“I was also injured right before deployment, so that sense of not finishing your job with the people you started with is something we connected on,” he said. “Unfortunately, he is left with limited mobility and over the past 20 years he has received multiple back surgeries to try to help.”
Conservative Tribune reports:
Because of the family’s financial situation, Hayley Williams was working full time to afford her final year of college, but it didn’t seem like it would be enough.
She doesn’t have to worry about that anymore.
With his military experience Driver had particular reason to be pleased to present the scholarship to Hayley.
What’s more, between the Folds of Honor foundation and Budweiser, all of her expenses for the following year — that way, her hard work can go to her schooling, and preparing to serve people in a career in the medical field.
What an awesome individual. Hopefully Driver will continue to find success in Hollywood as it seems he has a good head on his shoulders.
