It’s rare that one would laugh about anything related to ISIS, but when they revealed that the majority of their new recruits are accidentally blowing themselves up, it was hard not to laugh.
Army Col. Ryan Dillion, a spokesman for Operation Inherent Resolve, recently revealed that ISIS rookies have been killing themselves by accidentally blowing themselves up before combat.
Dillion said there is now intense tension between ISIS’ last “few hundred” veteran fighters in Mosul.
“We have reflections of serious internal conflict within ISIS’s ranks, leaders have abandoned fighters to die, local fighters are being left to rot where they fall while foreign fighters receive proper burials, and remaining inexperienced fighters making rookie mistakes blow themselves up accidentally in preparation for combat,” he explained, according to WLS-TV.
Conservative Tribune reports:
The liberation of Mosul was expected to be announced in the coming days, as the campaign against the Islamic State group in the key city has progressed.
The terrorist group captured the city in June 2014, and it was one of its most strategic wins, as Mosul is one of the main entry points for fighters entering Iraq, according to CNN. More than 2.5 million people were subjected to the Islamic State group’s horrific reign.
But, with Mosul’s liberation comes new hope for those fighting against radical terrorism. The city is the last major stronghold in Iraq still held by the Islamic State group, and although the terrorist activities will undoubtedly continue in other places throughout the country, for now, their “hub” has been stripped away.
Laughing at human tragedy isn’t always the best idea, but any harm that comes to ISIS is well deserved based on the way they have treated innocent people in the past.
