A Texas mother has been arrested and is facing serious charges after she left her two children in a hot car overnight in May.
The two children were eventually found dead and mother Cynthia Marie Randolph, 24, is being directly blamed for the deaths of her 2-year-old daughter and 16-month-old son.
According to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office, Randolph left the children in the car to teach her daughter a lesson.
“Throughout multiple interviews, Randolph created several variations of the events which led to the death of her children,” the sheriff’s office reported.
“Randolph initially told police the children, 1-year old Cavanaugh Ramirez and 2-year old Juliet Ramirez, had locked themselves in the car,” CBS news reported.
Conservative Tribune reports:
But then through the investigation that included Texas rangers, the sheriff’s office found that Randolph found her children playing in the car around 12:15 p.m., upon which time she told her daughter to get out of the car. The little girl reportedly refused and so Randolph closed the door on her and the little boy “to teach her daughter a lesson.”
Reportedly, Randolph believed that the little girl could get herself and her brother out of the car once she was ready, and according to CBS went back in the house and smoked marijuana then took a nap for two to three hours.
The little girl was never able to get herself out and when Randolph discovered the children unresponsive she broke the window to support her claim that this was an accident. Around 4 p.m. when the sheriff’s office was alerted to the situation, the temperature outside had already reached 96 degrees and the children had perished inside an even hotter car.
Randolph’s story changed several times under questioning. First, she said the kids locked themselves inside, then said they were playing out back but she didn’t know that they had gone into the car. Then she said she broke the window to get them out, but later admitted she broke the window to make it look like an accident.
This is some of the worst parenting I’ve ever seen. If your children are making you mad or misbehaving, discipline them in a proper way or take a moment to cool off before doing something as insane as locking them in a hot car.
Randolph should be banned from ever having kids again in the future. Share this story on social media and leave a comment below.
