A KTLA news reporter learned a tough lesson on Tuesday morning while reporting on the annual Hermosa Beach Iron Man festival.
For this version of Iron Man, contestants had to run one mile, paddle board another mile, and close it all off by chugging a six-pack of beer.
As reporter Wendy Burch reported on the event, one of the contestants suddenly threw up all over her.
“It looks like you’ve been training for this for some time,” Burch said to a rather portly fellow.
“I’ve been training for this for about 25 years,” the man said.
Conservative Tribune reports:
Right in the middle of his response, vomit from somewhere to the right of the camera spewed all over his back and into Burch’s hair. The live shot quickly ended and went back to the studio where the male anchor was grinning broadly, and the female anchor was covering her mouth.
“We saw everything in that live shot,” remarks the male anchor. “We’re not going back.”
Bruch actually wrote a piece for the Huffington Post where she recounted the event and explained that she actually thought the cameras were still rolling after she was puked on, so she kept doing her job.
She described how awkward and disgusting the situation was.
“And while the anchors tried to regain their composure and go onto the next story. I assumed I was still live. So, for the better part of the next two minutes, I just kept interviewing drunken people, while sudsy substances flew in in the air and landed in my hair,” she wrote.
Credit to Bruch for remaining so professional during the entire incident.
