For most Americans, July 4 is an important day to celebrate our independence and the birth of our nation.
That is unless you are the liberal media. On July 4, the Associated Press took advantage of Independence Day to try and push their leftist agenda.
Instead of praising America for the great country that it is, the AP criticized it for being unfair to minorities.
“How do you celebrate during what some people of color consider troubling times?” the AP asked in a report entitled, “July Fourth holiday brings mixed feelings for minorities.”
“Blacks, Latinos and immigrant rights advocates say the aftermath of the 2016 presidential election, recent non-convictions of police officers charged in the shootings of black men, and the stepped-up detentions of immigrants and refugees for deportation have them questioning equality and the promise of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in the United States.”
Conservative Tribune reports:
As Fox News host Eric Bolling pointed out to unrepentant liberal Geraldo Rivera after the election last year, President Donald Trump performed fairly well with minorities, or at least compared to how analysts had expected him to fare; which puts to rest the notion that his win was somehow a victory for “white supremacy.”
Second, when cops fail to be convicted for shooting black criminals, it occurs because of a jury deeming the evidence against the officer to be unconvincing. In the case of Hispanic Minnesota police officer Jeronimo Yanez, who was acquitted last month in the shooting death of Philando Castile, the jury even reportedly contained two black men.
As for the AP’s last claim, it was patently false. Immigrants are not being detained for deportation; illegal immigrants are, their race, their sex and their religion notwithstanding.
This is another classic case of the liberal media trying to bend the truth and attack our country for following the law.
If illegal immigrants want to live in the United States, they can easily apply through the proper immigration channels. The fact that your family entered the country illegally decades ago shouldn’t automatically qualify you for citizenship.
