A Canadian mother recently got chewed out by a police officer after she left her children in a hot car while she went grocery shopping.
The mother left her children, ages 3 and 6, in a hot car while she went to buy groceries.
When she returned, she was shocked to see that several emergency vehicles were sitting around her vehicle.
That’s when this heroic police officer confronted the mother and chewed her out for what she did.
“Do you understand what you’ve done? Your children could have died,” the officer declared in no uncertain terms.
“No, you don’t seem to understand the danger you’ve put these children into,” he said.
“Listen to me. You’re talking when you should be listening,” he continued. “Your children could have died. The windows were up, it’s hot out.”
“Why are you arguing? Do you want me to seize your kids and you’ll never see them again?”
Conservative Tribune reports:
During a news conference later in the day on a separate matter, Vancouver Police Chief Adam Palmer was asked about the incident. He heaped praise upon the “hard-working, dedicated officer” that he further described as a “highly respected member of the police department” who was simply trying to explain the “gravity of the situation” to the mother of the two young children.
“I know that he has children of his own and you have to remember that police officers are just people,” Palmer stated. “We’re all human beings and everyone may react slightly differently to every set of circumstances and he was trying to convey to the woman the seriousness of what she’d done to the children.”
It is unlikely that the woman will face any sort of criminal charges over the incident, but the Ministry of Children and Family Development was notified and will be conducting their own investigation of the matter.
Never leave your children in a hot car, no matter how quick you may be. You never know what will happen.
