The niece of Dr. Martin Luther King recently said two very nice things about President Donald Trump.
You wouldn’t expect the niece of MLK to like Trump, but in a recent interview, she called him “brilliant” and “compassionate.”
“The president is certainly fighting for civil rights today for the little unborn persons in the womb who have a right to live,” King said.
She went on to say that Trump is “knowledgeable of much of the history of African-Americans” and has “surrounded himself” with prominent African-American leaders.
“Trump himself is a very brilliant man. I believe he is compassionate,” King said.
Conservative Tribune reports:
Every time someone says something complimentary about Donald Trump, liberals go insane. That’s doubly true if that person is a minority. How dare they not proffer their fealty to the Democrats like they’re supposed to?
Conversely, every time someone can slam the president — the way that John Lewis did — there’s no higher praise that it being said that you stood up to the president. Sure, what Lewis said may have been reflexive and exactly the same “Trump’s a racist OMG” stuff we’ve heard over and over again, but the important part is that he said something bad about the president.
And keep in mind, King actually said she held Lewis in great esteem, The Hill noted.
“He’s one of the greatest defenders of non-violent conflict resolution, extending that olive branch,” King added. “So everybody in America needs to do some homework and stop playing the race card.”
Those are some very nice words from King. Share this story on social media if you agree with what she said.
