Musical artist Joy Villa stunned the music industry several months ago when she showed up to the Grammys wearing a pro-Donald Trump “Make America Great Again” dress.
Not surprisingly, Villa received a lot of criticism from liberals for wearing the dress.
“I am 100 percent a Trump supporter. I believe in his message, I believe he will run this country like he runs his life, successfully,” Villa told Fox News at the time.
“I stand as a proud American and I stand for a unified America that is tolerant of each other no matter who we voted for,” she added. “I stand behind our President because that’s the American thing to do. I believe in love, above all.”
Since that night, Villa has revealed that she even faced death threats from her critics.
“I’ve gotten death threats and hate mail,” Villa stated on Starnes’ program. “All I did was wear a dress — something that was pro-Trump.”
“I can’t really say I was surprised (by the hatred),” she added. “I was prepared for it.”
Conservative Tribune reports:
Prepared for the backlash or not, Villa still found it rather unsettling how so many of her peers in Hollywood and the music industry, not to mention the media, were so brutally harsh and “unhinged” in their threats to her and others who are supportive of Trump.
“They are actually attacking his supporters and attacking him — that are quite honestly disgusting and I’m appalled by it,” Villa said.
However, she hadn’t let the leftist assault get her down, and has instead used it as inspiration. Villa explained, “We decided to combat that violence by doing a tribute and something beautiful.”
That “tribute” would be a new song she recently recorded that shares a title with Trump’s slogan, “Make America Great Again.” Perhaps one day she can perform that new tune for the president at the White House.
We shouldn’t be surprised by this. Liberals have no shame and are more than willing to get violent when it suits their needs.
