A Navy SEAL on a long road to recovery recently surprised his wife with a gesture of true love.
Navy SEAL Jonathan Grant, 36, from North Carolina, previously served as a combat medic instructor when he was involved in a car accident that left him in a coma in March.
The accident left him with a complex brain injury, called a Diffuse Axonal Injury, that left him with a low chance of survival, unable to talk, and saw him lose most of his basic life skills.
Laura Browning-Grant, 32, his wife, has stood by his side the entire time.
After a successful string of physical therapy, Grant stood up and the first thing he did was kiss his wife.
“We hadn’t been able to stand and hold each other since before the accident, but as soon as we got him up, he started kissing my neck,” she told Cosmopolitan.
“It gave me the chills — him kissing me back, you don’t realize how much that means until it’s almost taken away from you.”
This is truly beautiful. If you want to help Grant, you can donate to his cause through this GoFundMe page.
