President Obama may have said that his 90-minute meeting with Donald Trump Thursday was cordial and encouraging, but the photos sometimes told another story:

As the two met at the White House two days after the election, social media started ‘revealing’ what Obama’s staff really thought of Trump invading their space:

And it seemed entirely reasonable that someone might think the images were really a reaction to Thursday’s meeting.
But it turns out that those death stares—

—were from other White House moments, such as yesterday’s Rose Garden meeting with the president and vice president going over the Democrats’ abysmal election results:
No doubt there will be more tears to come as the president prepares to hand over the keys to Donald Trump.
