As anti-Trump protests rage on across the nation by leftists and Hillary Clinton supporters (and likely many paid agitators), the mainstream media has chosen to focus on spurious allegations against President-elect Donald Trump’s supporters — despite documented evidence of leftists committing violence against his supporters. Still, during an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes,” Trump condemned the violence…and CBS decided to bury the quote.
The Daily Wire reported:
Over the weekend, left-wing CBS News withheld condemnations made by President-elect Donald Trump on Friday during a 60 Minutes interview of alleged acts of bigotry claimed to be carried out by his supporters.
If CBS’s managing editors sincerely believed that Trump’s electoral victory has inspired a spate of violence and bigoted acts and that the president-elect could stifle its continuation, why did the network not rush to broadcast his condemnation of said acts?
Why, it’s almost as if the liberal mainstream media has spread tall tales of harassment committed by Trump supporters in order to set Trump up. Shocking, isn’t it? *snorts*]

Sooooo CBS news and 60 minutes held this for two days. Think about that. https://t.co/IQqPnmLbNA

CBS's underwhelming answer: "We chose to release a quote on the issue that affects the most Americans & that was his statement on Obamacare"

CBS’ Lesley Stahl pushed Trump to condemn the allegations — even though many either haven’t been substantiated or have been debunked — yet practically ignored the documented violence against Trump supporters.
Unlike the pathetic example set by President Obama and Hillary Clinton, Trump went ahead and condemned any violence/harassment and told people to “stop it.”
That is what Obama should have done, and should continue to do (and more), but he has instead chosen to shirk his responsibilities once again. Once a
rabble rouser community organizer, always a community organizer, I guess…
Although Trump is right that, if anyone is actually doing the things alleged, they should absolutely stop, he should be more careful not to fall into the mainstream media’s trap.
The media has painted a narrative that Trump supporters are violent while they have ignored the documented cases of leftist violence against his supporters.
Fortunately, Trump did point out the left-wing, big-money funding and organization of these so-called “organic” protests, which Stahl scoffed at.
Worse, she made excuses for the anti-Trump protesters and actually pushed Trump to “assuage” their fears. Trump responded and made sure to note that there’s a serious double standard at play:
“Don’t be afraid. We are going to bring our country back. But certainly, don’t be afraid. You know, we just had an election and sort of like you have to be given a little time. I mean, people are protesting. If Hillary had won and if my people went out and protested, everybody would say, ‘Oh, that’s a terrible thing.’ And it would have been a much different attitude. There is a different attitude. You know, there is a double standard here.”
After a long, hard-fought election, the battle has really only just begun. Trump is going to be attacked from all sides and he has to be vigilant. Hopefully his team can help him navigate the minefields and continue, like he largely did during the campaign, not to back down in the face of the mainstream media’s attacks.
