Daily Mail made allegations that Melania Trump was employed as an escort, publishing this article over the course of the campaign for the 2016 election.
This disgusting attempt was an obvious way liberals were trying to tarnish the Trump reputation, and for the first time, they did not get away with it!
The newspaper was sued for damages by Melania in London’s High Court, and Mrs. Trump has graciously accepted the win along with an apology. She went to hit them where it hurt, suing for $150 million. It’s not available to the public how much she actually received, but hopefully she received even more than she asked for.
Daily Mail issued the most pathetic apology, simply acknowledging that they made “allegations that she provided services beyond simply modeling.”
The article also claimed that Mr and Mrs Trump may have met three years before they actually did, and later “staged” their first meeting.
“We accept that these allegations about Mrs Trump are not true,” the newspaper said.
A lawyer for Mrs Trump told the London court the allegations “strike at the heart of the claimant’s personal integrity and dignity”.
Her lawyer said the double-page spread in August last year, titled “Racy photos and troubling questions about his wife’s past that could derail Trump”, featured an old nude photo of Mrs Trump from her modelling career. “Readers of the newspaper that day could not fail to miss the article,” he said.
