As you may have read here, a grieving mother had to go pick up her 1-year old child named Korey from day care only to find him dead.
The body was found hidden in a bedroom on Friday morning. The mother is absolutely bereft at this unexpected development. Losing a child is difficult for any parent, but this situation was so unexpected.
One of the women that worked there said that he was “knocked out” and didn’t even stir when she tried to change his diaper. That should have been a big red flag for her.
911 was called, and paramedics tried to revive him using CPR, but it was too late. The young toddler was covered in bruises and bite marks all over his face, fingers and stomach. The child’s head was also swollen.
A development has been made, with an 8-year old being the prime suspect in the death of the unsupervised child. The only witness to this crime was a 5-year old boy. The 8-year old was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation.
The police still have not discovered a cause of death. An autopsy has been scheduled and hopefully that will shed some light as to how this little boy met his untimely death.
MUSKEGON, Mich. (AP/MEREDITH) — An 8-year-old is suspected in the death of a 1-year-old boy who was left unsupervised in a home day care in Michigan. Muskegon Police Chief Jeffrey Lewis said the toddler’s body was found concealed Friday morning in a bedroom. He says the primary witness is only 5-years-old. He did not yet know a cause of death.
He said the 1-year-old had been crying and “the 8-year-old dealt with the baby crying.” Bryanna Reasonover told WOOD-TV that she found her son’s body in a playpen when she went to pick up three children she had dropped off the previous night. “I was about to head towards Korey and one of the ladies who worked at the daycare was like , ‘Oh Korey is knocked out. I changed his diaper he didn’t even wake up,'” said Reasonover.
The mother said there were bruises and bite marks on his face, fingers and stomach. She also said her son’s head was swollen. “When I pick him up, his face tilts over and I’m like what’s all this on my babies face, what’s wrong with his face,” said Reasonover. “I’m like Korey, you know, wake up. I’m like my baby he’s not waking up.” She said that’s when everyone panicked and called 911. Paramedics tried CPR, but it was too late. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine how the toddler died. Police said the 8-year-old was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation.
