A 13-year old boy from Charlotte has been arrested after sexually assaulting two females. His brazen attacks on these women are outrageous, but luckily, they both managed to fight him off before he did too much damage.
He is now being held in a juvenile detention facility, though, because of his age, his name and information have not been released.
One of his victims was a 17-year old girl and the other was a 24-year old woman. He did not know these women prior to the attacks.
The 17-year old girl was doing laundry in her building’s laundry room when the teenager came in. As she was leaving, the boy grabbed her, threw her to the ground and tried to rape her. She was trying to fight him off, when someone entered and he was interrupted, fleeing the scene.
The second attack occurred on the 24-year old while she was on her fitness walk on Murray Hill. He pinned her to the ground, where he fondled her forcibly, but she fought him off, screaming in the process. This caused him to run away.
He lives close by to where these two attacks occurred and he is not currently being investigated in relation to any other attacks.
From Charlotte Observer:
A DNA match from a suspect in a robbery case helped police identify the assailant in the assaults, Lt. Melanie Peacock of CMPD’s Westover Division said at a news conference at CMPD headquarters on Monday afternoon. “It’s about as brazen as we’re going to see,” Peacock said of the assaults. The attacker and the victims did not know each other, Peacock said. Police detained the suspect on Friday, and he is in a juvenile detention facility, she said. His name is not being released because he is not charged as an adult. Both attacks occurred in the Westover Division, which covers parts of west Charlotte, including Tyvola Road, Woodlawn Road and Remount Road.
