A New York City woman was shot at point-blank range over the course of a robbery, but she was saved by an unusual hero. Who came to her aid in her time of need? Every woman’s best friend, of course, her purse.
A 52-year old man ran up to her on a Brooklyn street early on Wednesday morning. He demanded her car keys. The woman, who is 39 years old, fought back.
During the struggle, he shot at the woman, firing a round at her in point-blank range.
The bullet went through her purse, wallet and clothes, but miraculously stopped short of hitting her body. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Unfortunately, the robber was not perturbed by this, and then pistol-whipped the woman. In her defenseless state, he took her car keys and drove off in her car.
Police found him nearby the scene, still in her car, where he was arrested on attempted murder charges. Obviously this man is not the best apple in the barrel, but it is good the woman got away from him relatively unharmed.
