A 4-year old girl was sleeping peacefully in her bed with the window to her room open, when all of a sudden, the worst thing a parent could ever imagine happened.
A 15-year old used a ladder to access her second floor bedroom on Sunday in the peaceful neighborhood of Rosedale, Queens.
The little girl’s parents were not home at the time this creep made his way into their home, but there were several adult relatives present in the house in addition to a 9-month old who was in the living room.
When her parent’s came home, she cried to them that someone came into her bedroom and assaulted her. She was taken to a doctor, who found evidence of sexual assault.
Fingerprints were lifted off of a ladder from inside the house. In addition to that piece of evidence, surveillance video was also found which led authorities to identify a well-known 15-year old from the neighborhood.
He was arrested on Tuesday and the police then charged him with attempted rape, burglary and aggravated sexual abuse. Since he is technically still a minor, his identity has not been released to the public.
ROSEDALE, Queens — A 15-year-old has been arrested for allegedly climbing into a Queens home and sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl, police said Tuesday. The young victim was sleeping in her second-floor bedroom on Francis Lewis Boulevard in Rosedale with the window open when someone, possibly using a ladder, accessed her bedroom early Sunday, police said.
Her parents were not home at the time, but she was left in the care of several adult relatives, sources said. When the child’s parents returned, she told them a stranger accessed her bedroom and assaulted her, according to police. Sources say there was a 9-month-old in the living room at the time. The infant had been moved to another room.
Doctors later found indications of sexual assault, sources say. Investigators were able to lift fingerprints from a ladder and inside the house, as well as locate surveillance video, sources tell PIX11. That led police to a “known” 15-year-old in the neighborhood, according to sources. He was arrested early Tuesday, and charged with attempted rape, burglary and aggravated sex abuse, police said. The teen has not been identified.
