When can cake get you seriously in trouble? This family learned really quickly, that cake at high-altitudes is a big no-no.
A family, consisting of Minta and Cameron Burke, got kicked off of a JetBlue flight, after someone in the family tried to put a cake in the overhead bin. They were going to celebrate Minta’s 40 year old birthday with their children, which was the reason behind their flight from JFK Airport in New York all the way to Las Vegas.
NYPD admitted that the family did nothing wrong, but they were still all kicked off of the flight.
Cameron was told to move the birthday cake from the overhead bin, to under his seat, which he complied with. That’s when a second flight attendant got involved.
Cameron noted that the second flight attendant was aggressive and looking to start a fight. According to his observations, “her behavior was not normal.” That is when he asked her if she was drinking.
An officer was brought into the plane, and he said, “No one’s in any trouble.” Their young son was caught on video crying about the ordeal. That is when the whole family was forced to get out of the plane and rebook their entire flight!
The officer was quick to point the finger at the airline, saying JetBlue requested the family be removed. “I’m sorry!” the boy tells the officer as his voice cracks. JetBlue issued Mashable the following statement. Cameron maintains that he never raised his voice or cursed on the plane and says that his family was never given a definitive answer for why they were kicked off the flight. It’s unclear what exactly happened before Cameron started filming, but it appears as if his comment about the flight attendant being intoxicated is part of the reason they were booted from the flight. According to Kim, there is an extended video of the incident, and Mashable has requested he post the entire video to YouTube.
