Mexico is growing more and more dangerous by the minute. President Donald Trump is completely in the right to acknowledge that the United States must pay more attention to the southern border.
An alert has been prompted in nine Mexican states after the head of national emergency services discovered that an unknown amount of radioactive material was stolen.
People who may interact with the stolen material are urged not to open it. The public is encouraged to report any information about the stolen radioactive substance.
There is a search across the Mexican states of Colima, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes, Nayarit, Durango, Michoacan San Luis Potosi, Zacatecas and Jalisco.
This is not the first time Mexico had an incident where radioactive materials have been stolen.
The last instance occurred as recently as last year, when a container of components used for industrial X-rays was stolen along with a vehicle.
An unknown amount of stolen radioactive material has prompted an alert in nine Mexican states, the head of national emergency services said on Monday. The alert and search for the stolen material covers the states of Jalisco, Colima, Nayarit, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Michoacan San Luis Potosi, Durango and Zacatecas, according to a post on Luis Felipe Puente’s Twitter account.
Puente encouraged people with information about the stolen material to report it but added: “don’t open it.” Stolen or lost radioactive material has on several occasions been reported in Mexico, most recently early last year when a container of radioactive substance used for industrial X-rays, a method of non-destructive testing, was taken along with a car.
