Now that the weather is nicer, people are out on the roads more, some of which are not taking the proper safety precautions. An incident occurred on Saturday, which should work as a story to caution everyone to be more careful on the road.
An 8-year old Brooklyn girl was the victim of a hit-and-run on Saturday in Marine Park according to police.
Something like this should have never happened, as the driver should have not only been more aware of his surroundings, but he should have been watching where he was going.
The child was quickly rushed to a local hospital where she was treated for an injury to her head. She was declared to be in stable condition.
The incident occurred on Avenue P and East 31st Street at around 6:30 pm.
The car involved was a 2001-2002 Honda Accord. It hit the girl with the front passenger side of the wheel. The most identifiable part was that the car had some injury to the headlight. Police are still on the lookout for the driver.
