A 2-year old Missouri girl died after “wrestling moves” were performed on her by her mother’s boyfriend. The couple is now facing charges for torturing this poor child, who has so far only been identified as “AC.”
The mother is a 19-year old Cheyenne Cook and the boyfriend is 24-year old Richard Gamache Jr.
The incident occurred on May 16th, and emergency medical services were called after the child started to have seizures. They responded to the scene at Dorchester Court in House Springs. The child was rushed to the hospital, but she died days later.
There were obvious signs of trauma to the child when they visited her home.
The wrestling move that ended her life was called the “Batista Bomb,” which lead to injuries that ultimately killed her.
The move consists of flipping a person onto their shoulders and then slamming them onto the ground back first. Digital evidence of abuse was also uncovered between the couple. Among that were communications between the pair that showed they were trying to hide the signs that the girl was abused.
“This child was essentially tortured,” said Sheriff Marshak in a statement. “Our prayers are with ‘AC’ and the investigators that were intimately involved with this investigation.”
Police say that Gamache abused the child over time. Her mother was allegedly complacent and did not intervene or seek medical help.
Richard Gamache is charged with abuse or neglect of a child and has a $500,000 cash only bond. Cheyenne Cook, 19, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child. She has a $2,500 cash-only bond.
