On Tuesday night, an United Airlines plane engine caught on fire at Newark Liberty International Airport, which injured at least 5 people.
This is yet another occurrence of bad luck when it comes to United Airlines. Looks like they’re going to have to give their public relations team some more overtime.
The flight was headed from Newark to San Francisco. It was scheduled for takeoff when one of the engines caught on fire.
The crew was notified about the flames that were coming out of one of the engines and it immediately evacuated the passengers.
The passengers had to use the plane’s side emergency exit, which was an inflatable slide.
Flight 1579 from Newark to San Francisco was scheduled to take off when officials said its engine caught fire.
Jonathan Guerin, a spokesman for United, said the tower notified the crew of what appeared to be flames from one of the engines. He said the crew immediately deployed the plane’s sides and evacuated the passengers.
