New York City has always been a crazy place with violence being almost a daily occurrence across the five boroughs, but what this woman did take the cake.
Jacqueline Sanjurgio, a 53 year old woman, allegedly slashed another woman across the face and hands while waiting for the 6 train at the Grand Central Platform at around 11 am.
Police managed to apprehend her at the Port Authority Bus Terminal after finding a woman that fit her description. What makes her actions even more outrageous was that the victims was carrying a baby at the time of the attack.
Sanjurgio has now been charged with two counts of assault, one count of criminal possession of a weapon as well as one count of acting in a way that is injurious to a child.
After the attack, the victim was hospitalized, but her condition remains unknown.
Because of this attack, there were train delays in both directions that lasted throughout the late morning.
The victim had been taking the train downtown from 125th street with an infant.
After circulating a description of the alleged attacker – a woman with blond hair who was last seen wearing a red jacket – police were able to take the woman into custody near the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue, police said.
The victim was hospitalized in unknown condition.
