Police are currently on the look out for a culprit who is on a crime spree. This serial offender is running around shaving cats.
So far, the attacker has visited two pets repeatedly and may have accosted up to a total of ten cats.
This serial cat shaver also has developed a preference in what type of cat he shaves. Only ginger moggies will do for these repeated cat attacks.
A cat owner, Beverly Findlay, has complained that two of her ginger cats have been returning home with patches of their fur shaved off.
Her non-ginger cats are also left alone and come back home just fine with all their fur in tact.
Mrs. Findlay has reached out to the RSPCA for help after her pets have been the target of these attacks several times in the past eight weeks. In the last year, 12 cats have been reported shaved with no cat-attacker ever being caught.
From The Sun:
Gran Beverley Findlay said her two ginger cats had come home with patches of fur shaved off. Her other two non-ginger cats were left unscathed in Tonbridge, Kent.
Mrs Findlay, who called the police and RSPCA for help, said the pets, both aged three, have been targeted several times over eight weeks.
She said: “It’s only happened to the ginger ones. I have no idea who would do something like this or why. I just really want whoever it is to stop.”
Mrs Findlay said: “The whole thing is really creepy. It’s almost like someone is trying to remodel them, I thought maybe it could even be a hairdressing student.” Local Erica Cunningham said she had spoken to neighbourhood watch co-ordinators about the attacks.
She said: “I’ve heard of quite a few ginger cats being shaved over the last month or so. It’s not just an isolated incident, this is happening to ginger cats all around Tonbridge.” Kent Police said they were investigating. A spokesman said: “The owner reported that the cats’ bodies appeared to have been partially shaved. The report has been filed, pending any further information.” Last year 12 cats were shaved in the Cotswolds. The attacker was never caught.
