A police officer from Ripley Tennessee is accused of going out to have sex with prostitutes while still on duty.
Lieutenant Donald Bonds, who is 49 years old, was the target of an investigation that began in late March by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation after learning about some accusations regarding his sexual misconduct.
Lt. Bonds had paid for sex on two occasions, in January and February.
Both of these times happened inside his police vehicle while he was still on duty, according to agents of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
The officer was booked into jail, but has been released on a $10,000 bond. He has also been suspended from duty without pay.
He was indicted on four counts of official misconduct as well as two counts of patronizing prostitution.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation started investigating Lt. Donald Bonds, 49, in late March after learning of allegations of sexual misconduct. Agents learned he had paid to have sex on two occasions, in January and February. Both instances happened inside his police vehicle while he was on duty, according to the TBI. Monday, a Lauderdale County grand jury indicted Bonds on charges of official misconduct (four counts) and patronizing prostitution (two counts). He was booked into jail but released on a $10,000 bond.
