In Utah, a woman stands accused of child abuse after she was discovered in the act of trying to pull out two of her son’s teeth using pliers in a Walmart bathroom. Her actions have been called “child abuse in its purest form” by police.
On April 2nd, Jeannine Cherilynn Isom bought some hand sanitizer and needle nose pliers at Walmart. She then took her son, who is only 7-years old, to the rest room. That is where she pulled out two of his teeth using her newly acquired set of pliers.
Isom extracted both of his upper front teeth from his mouth using these needle nose pliers without using any type of anesthetic.
The teeth did not come out in one who piece, there were multiple fragments of each tooth that needed to be pulled out. This is just even more of a testament as to how the teeth were “still every attached to this child’s mouth.”
The 7-year olds brother and a store employee heard the screams coming from the child and took him from the bathroom.
Because of her actions, Isom has been charged with one count of child abuse as well as a second degree felony for “knowingly inflict serious physical injury upon a child.”
They told reporters, mother Jeannine Cherilynn Isom entered Walmart on April 2, where she purchased hand sanitizer and needle nose pliers. According to the local authorities, Isom then took her 7-year-old son into the restroom and extracted two of his teeth using the new set of pliers. “She proceeded to use the needle nose pliers to extract both teeth, both of his upper front teeth in his mouth,” American Fork Police Sgt. Cameron Paul told the local ABC4. The child’s older brother and a store employee reported hearing the boy screaming and took him from the bathroom. Documents say his mother didn’t use any type of anesthetic.
