Country music icon Loretta Lynn, who suffered a stroke earlier this week, remains hospitalized in Nashville.
The 85-year-old singer was stricken while at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
Information posted on Loretta’s website said that the country music legend was responsive and expected to make a full recovery. Fans gathered outside of the hospital and her home to show their support for the queen of country music.
Lynn’s sister, Grammy-winning artist Crystal Gayle issued a statement.
Many of you have heard that my sister, Loretta Lynn, had a stroke. She’s a strong woman, and I know she’ll come out of this. Our family appreciates your prayers, love, and support. We pray for a speedy recovery.
Loretta continues to record and tours regularly and has been in remarkable health for a woman her age until this incident. Her next record, “Wouldn’t It Be Great” is scheduled for release on August 18th.
