According to an article in Reuters, underage child brides are being tricked into becoming sex slaves in Mexico.
Human trafficking is thought to be the fastest growing criminal enterprise in Mexico.
A study showed that 3 out of four young girls involved in Mexican sex trafficking were married at a young age, mostly before turning 16.
Three-quarters of the victims are young girls, many who are tricked into marriage only to be sold as sex slaves.
The researchers interviewed 603 women working in the sex industry in the Mexican cities of Tijuana and Ciudad Juarez, both along the border with the United States. Most said they had been trafficked as under-age brides, often by their husbands.

How many of these young girls are transported across the U.S. border is unknown, but it is another example of the kind of crime Mexico exports to the U.S.
