Upon his arrival in Saudi Arabia, President Donald Trump was greeted by King Salman at the airport.
And, unlike President Obama, President Trump did not bow to the King. Instead, the two leaders shook hands.
Obama made news in 2009 when he met Saudi King Abdullah and bowed before the king. Many Americans were shocked to see the President of the United States bowing before a foreign leader.
Fox News reported on the details of Trump’s arrival.
Saudi Arabia offered Trump the elaborate welcome ahead of his two-day stay. Billboards featuring images of Trump and the king dotted the highways of Riyadh, emblazoned with the motto “Together we prevail.”
Saudi Arabia marked the start of Trump’s nine-day oversea trip that will also take him to Israel and Europe.
