Democrats have gotten pretty good at explaining how a defeat is really a victory.
Now, they are busy spinning the loss by Democrat Rob Quist in Montana by saying that it was a ‘victory’ because the margin of defeat was by 8 points.
Of course, the election was held the day after the GOP candidate, Greg Gianforte, ‘body slammed’ a reporter and was arrested by the local sheriff on a charge of assault,
According to Vox Editor Matt Yglesias, the Gianforte should have won by 11 points, so the loss was really a win for the Dems.
Well, maybe so. But, the Democrats seem to be having an awful lot of ‘winning losses’ this spring.
John Whitbeck, Chair of the Republican Party of Virginia noted that the GOP had won all four contested House elections this spring.

Democrats have dreams of winning back the House in 2018, but those dreams are about as farfetched as their election math seems to be.
