Former President Barack Obama set a record this week when he became the first former president to attack his successor so early in his term.
By tradition and in the national interest, former Presidents are expected to avoid partisan politics after they leave office. Obama is acting like he was elected king for life.
It has been a hallmark of American politics that the nation speaks with one voice, and there is a substantial risk that America’s friends and enemies could be confused by a former President trying to influence policy.
According to The Daily Caller, Obama ‘slammed’ Trump for pulling out of the Paris agreement on climate change.
But even in the absence of American leadership; even as this Administration joins a small handful of nations that reject the future; I’m confident that our states, cities, and businesses will step up and do even more to lead the way, and help protect for future generations the one planet we’ve got.
Clearly, Obama seems to have forgotten that the American people clearly rejected his policies when they refused to elect his hand-picked successor, Hillary Clinton. He’s gone and he should stay gone.
