The positive actions of our President are contagious, people all over the country are finally getting on board with the new motto to Make America Great Again. Even in California, a state that has openly opposed the new administration, there are landlords who are terminating leases or raising prices to chuck the illegal immigrants out. If the illegal immigrants have anything to say, the landlords tell them to take it up with ICE, that definitely shuts the tenants up.
Jith Meganathan, a policy advocate at the Western Center on Law & Poverty, believes that the spike in incidents like this is closely related to the election of President Donald Trump.
“The scale at which it’s happening has increased dramatically since the November election,” Meganathan added. “We have somewhere between two-and-a-half million and 3 million undocumented individuals living in California, most of whom are renters.”
Of course, the liberals will not leave well enough alone. There is retaliation brewing on the West Coast as The Opposing Views reports:
Under state law, landlords in California are legally barred from asking their tenants for their immigration status.
On Feb. 3, Democratic Assemblyman David Chiu of California introduced legislation that would prohibit landlords in the Golden State from disclosing their tenants’ citizenship status to ICE agents, the Associated Press reports.
The bill is titled the Immigrant Tenant Protection Act of 2017.
