A 45 year-old undocumented immigrant has been charged in the death of California mother-of-two Sandra Duran, resulting from a tragic collision that occurred near Duran’s church in Los Angeles County on February 19th.
Estuardo Alvarado is accused of lethally striking Duran’s vehicle while escaping the scene of another auto crash in North Hills.
CBS News has reported that Alvarado has been charged with almost two dozen felonies and misdemeanors in the last 25 years, including the illegal possession of a weapon.
Federal authorities believe that the road-raging illegal alien had three prior DUI convictions and had been deported to Mexico five times since 1998. He is charged with five counts including murder for his role in the Duran’s death.
North Hills police have said that on Feb. 19th, Alvarado’s Dodge Durango raced around other cars and struck a parked vehicle, then sped away before crashing into Duran’s car. Several officers and volunteers rushed to save the 42 year-old victim but to no avail.
Duran is survived by her parents, four siblings and two children.
