For most Americans, Friday night’s intruder-incident at the White House provided a moment of relief and unity when news outlets reported that the President was safe.
Not so for ex-Secret Serviceman and Florida politician Dan Bongino, who erupted in an online video aimed at what he termed “bad management” and low morale in the prestigious White House security detail.
“He (the President) just isn’t safe anymore,” the security guru warned. “I’m not surprised…that another person breached the White House security perimeter. They’re securing the White House almost the same way they did 20 years ago,” he added, hinting that the cosmetic crowd-friendly look of the White House outer fence is a liability.
“You’ve got people worried about the optics,” said Bongino in the Facebook Live video. “Do you want the White House safe or not?”
On Friday at around 10:30 PM EST, 26 year-old Jonathan Tuan-Anh Tran was arrested and charged with trespassing after jumping the outer White House fence and making his way to a guest entrance, claiming to be a “friend” of the President. 2 cans of mace were found in his backpack.
