Connecticut Democrat Rep. Elizabeth Esty is looking to gain more support of gun-carrying men by using the words “gun safety!”
So that’s how they are trying to spin it these days!
Esty believes that using the term “gun control” turns off at least 15% of the male population. And as she acknowledges, they can’t afford to lose that many votes.
However, she believes that switching the words up from gun safety rather than gun control will make the differnce in securing the 15% of the population that she needs.
We aren’t so sure. Just because you give it a fancy name doesn’t mean it is any more appealing.
Esty recently said, “In the three-and-a-half years that I’ve been in Congress, three-and-a-half years since Sandy Hook, we have not been allowed a single vote in the House of Representatives to help stop gun violence in America, and the time has passed for moments of silence. It is time for us to act, and it’s time for us to vote.”
She might need more than votes – she may need a little bit of luck as well.
Gun control will always be gun control whatever you decide to call it – pure and simple.
Conservative Tribune reports:
Liberals are notorious for manipulating language for the purpose of furthering their own agenda.
Connecticut Democrat Rep. Elizabeth Esty is attempting to do just that by urging that “gun control” be referred to as “gun safety” in an attempt draw the support of more gun-carrying men.
