Mariana Villarreal who worked as a waitress at Hooters in Georgia did something outstanding for one of her customers.
Don Thomas, a regular at Hooters, was chatting to Mariana and told him about his condition that required treatment. He had recently lost two kidneys and if he did not receive a kidney soon, he would be on dialysis for the rest of his life.
What Mariana suggested to Don blew him away. She told him that she had two kidneys, and she was willing to offer up one of hers. Mariana explained that her grandmother had recently died of kidney failure and she wanted to help Don.
Don was surprised by the offer. “Mariana had only been here a short time. I just barely knew her when she made the offer.”
Mariana said, “I wasn’t able to do anything for my grandma. If [Don] can live two more years, happy as he’s ever been, that’s fine with me. That’s not up to me. I did my part, now it’s God’s turn to keep him alive.”
The transplant was completed on May 29 and both are recovering extremely well.
So wonderful to hear that there are good people out there doing great turns for each other.
America Now reports:
A waitress at a Georgia Hooters did something that shocked both co-workers and customers after talking to a “regular” at the restaurant.
Mariana Villarreal, of Roswell, Georgia, was only recently hired by her local Hooters as a waitress, but had already gotten to know a few of the regulars. One of those regulars is Don Thomas, who has been visiting at that location for some time. While working one night, Villarreal was talking to Thomas when he told her about his condition that may have ended up costing him his life if he wasn’t able to get treatment.
