Oprah Winfrey is probably the most influential woman in the world. She helped define American daytime TV and has been nominated for Academy Awards as an actress and a producer. She’s been ranked by Forbes as the first and only Aftican-American multi-billionaire. Her work in education with her fight against AIDS and poverty have benefited people worldwide.
So, why shouldn’t she run for the Presidency in 2020?
63-year-old Winfrey, who was born to an unwed teenaged mother and grew up in abject poverty in rural Mississippi, is truly a self-made woman.
In 2007, she used her position to support Barack Obama’s candidacy. It’s been reported that she delivered more than a million votes in 2008 when he was elected as the first African-American president in U.S. history.
Despite rumors that she would be rewarded with an ambassadorship or perhaps even a cabinet-level position in the Obama administration, Winfrey remained in Chicago building her media empire and keeping involved in humanitarian projects.
In an interview podcast with The Hollywood Reporter, Oprah was asked if she could beat President Donald Trump if he runs for re-election in 2020.
“I don’t know the answer to that, but I’ll never have to know the answer to that because I will never run for public office,” Oprah stated unequivocally.
So, there you have it. Oprah has no intention of running in 2020.
US Herald reports:
