An investigation was launched when a Canadian woman came forward and told a story about being drugged and sexually assaulted by Bill Cosby. It was determined that there was enough evidence to go to trial. Cosby admitted during his deposition that he drugged the woman to have sex with her.
After only 53 hours of deliberation, the jury couldn’t come to a unanimous decision and the trial was declared a mistrial.
Prosecutors weren’t deterred and vowed to try again. They declared that the Canadian woman who accused Cosby of drugging and molesting her at his Philadelphia-area home in 2004 is “entitled to a verdict.”
Naturally, Cosby’s team declared it a victory.
Cosby’s wife went on the attack: “How do I describe the district attorney? Heinously and exploitively ambitious. How do I describe the judge? Overtly arrogant and collaborating with the district attorney. How do I describe the councils for the accusers? Totally unethical.”
Cosby’s reputation and career are finished. His health appears to be declining as well and he may not be around long enough for there to be a second trial.
Chicks on the Right reports:
After 53 hours of deliberation, Bill Cosby’s trial for sexual assault came back as a mistrial, and now his wife Camille has released an inflammatory statement lashing out at the prosecution, the district attorney, the accusers and the judge.
