US forces in Syria continue to take action against armed aggression toward US and US-led coalition forces in Syria. US military forces have been engaging enemy aircraft in the skies over Syria. It’s all part of their support of US and coalition troops on the ground.
US military forces have been destroying Iranian and Syrian-regime drones and jets if they are committing hostile acts toward freindly forces.
Recently, an Iranian drone was blasted out of the air. This makes the 5th time since early May that US forces have hit pro-Assad air forces with deadly accuracy.
A spokesman for US forces in Syria said that the drone, a Shaheed-129, was armed and heading on a course straight for US troops operating near At Tanf in southeastern Syria. When the drone did not divert its course, it was shot down.
Coalition forces have established a combat outpost to the northeast of At Tanf. It is from this outpost that US forces are training and advising coalition ground forces in the fight against ISIS. This is the same location where a pro-Assad regime UAV dropped munitions near Coalition forces prior to it being shot down on June 8.
The Coalition has made it clear to everyone that it will defend itself and its allies from attacks by pro-Syrian regime forces.
Allen B. West reports:
Somewhat under the radar (pun intended) U.S. military forces have been steadily engaging enemy aircraft in the skies above Syria usually in efforts to protect ground forces. We’ve been shooting down Iranian and Syrian-regime aircraft -both drones and jets- if they are deemed a threat and fail to alter course after having been told to do so.
Yesterday another Iranian drone was taken out marking the 5th time since early May that the United States has hit pro-Assad air forces. U.S. military said the drone, a Shaheed-129, was armed and headed straight for U.S. troops near At Tanf in southeastern Syria. When it did not change course, it was shot down.
